Some of you may remember that Mike and some others were killed in a horrific car crash on Marple Road in 1962, but what you probably don't know is that Mike was a very nice person and friend. I remember His Mom and Dad and how proud they were of their only son. I knew Mike for only a short time and we all had some great times together. I had not thought of him until I joined this web site and thought it would be fitting that someone remembered Mike. If you knew him please add to these memories.

Mike was a friend through elementary and junior high.  We sometimes walked to and from school together.  By high school we were in different tracks and so didn't have any classes together.  If I have one picture of Mike it has to be laughing - laughing hard!

I remember dragging discarded Christmas trees to the "woods" on our way to and from school, then building a "fort" out of them.  I'm glad I knew Mike.

I've prayed for Mike's family many times since Haverford.  It must have been hard to lose a kid.   Although I'm a committed Christian [pretty far right], I never talked to Mike about spiritual things.

I remember Mike as a happy, go lucky guy, always laughing & smiling.  I did have a hard time pronouncing his last name.

I remember Mike from high school.  He was always friendly.  Always smiling.  He was the first person of my generation ever to die. I still remember my shock and sadness when we all learned that he had died in that horrible auto accident.  Jeffrey B. Willens, Ph.D.

I still have fond memories of my old buddie. A lasting memory Is the day I was waiting for Mike to exit his bus at the High School and others on his bus knowing that we were friends came over to inform me of my Mike's death in that terrible auto accident.  I try only remembering the fun times and conversations we had. What a great guy he was, a great friend. Forever immoralized in our yearbook. R.I.P. Mike

Mike and I were in the same homeroom in high school -- you'll remember we were grouped alphabetically.  Mike sat in front of me and we would often talk about Phillies baseball and the Eagles. I remember going to homeroom the frist day of our senior year and seeing Mike's chair empty.  That's when it really hit me that he was gone. I'll never forget him.
