Gwen was my roommate during my freshman year at college, and it was then I got to know her. Smart, caring, studious, and the only person I ever met who only needed 4 hours of sleep a night! It's such a shock to think she and her chatty updates about her busy, interesting life are now but a memory.
Gwen and I stayed connected after high school having landed in the same IBM training class July 1966 in Philadelphia. Each of us went different places with IBM but retirement found us both in the west ... she and Rick (also IBM) loved Vail CA and I love Silicon Vally (and the coast) south of SF. Gwen joined me for one of my ARt Retreats in CO ... a new adventure for her but fun to spend the week together. I was aware of her tough battle with COVID early 2020. I knew she was having some form of treatment before her death but only aware of the details when Rick called me to say she had died ..... more recent battle with cancer. No question ... she was bubbly and never seemed any older, staying active with skiing and her volunteering in Vail. I'll miss her ... she was a neat, long time friend.
