Dave had an unassuming mature quality about him. He earned his spot at fullback because of his drive and committment. I hadn't reached that level of maturity at that time and consequently Dave's young maturity overshadowed me on the field. Dave and I met as neighborhood friends in our elementary school years and remained close throughout his life. We enjoyed 60 years of sharing our family lives. He and his wife Jeannie are missed and fondly remembered.
